We love our bikes in Asheville!

It doesn't matter if you are six or sixty...everyone feels like a kid on two wheels! We strongly encourage you to bring your bike along on your vacation in asheville. If you are traveling from afar please email us and we can help you rent a bike while you are here! Road Cycling

Have you been dreaming of tackling the Assault on Mt. Mitchell or some of our other challening Metric and full centuries? Relax at the yurt before and after your ride and check out these other challenging bike rides!  Here are just a few popular rides near asheville listed by month!

 

April-The Burnsville Metric- This is a great mostly flat metric century just 45 minutues outside of asheville that takes you along the Cane River and Toe River. A great start to the cycling season! Learn more on the Burnsville Metric Website

 

May-The Assault on Mt. Mitchell and Marion-If the Assault is not on your bucket list, it should be! A challenge for those who have trained...and a cycling road of tears for those who slacked (I came close to vomiting)....the Assault on Mt. Mitchell will test you!

June-The Fletcher Flyer- Looking for a more relaxing century in North Carolina? Come bike the Fletcher Flyer in Fletcher North Carolina, just 20 minutes from the Yurt. The Fletcher flyer is an enoyable century with metric and shorter options that takes you through farm country. A very popular and fun ride. Learn more about the Flyer here.

 

July-The Hot Doggett 100-This ride departs from Mars Hill North Carolina and is another butt kicking century with over 9,600 ft of elevation gain. There is another challenging metric option Learn more. 

 

The Roan Groan-another challenging July century that takes you (groaning) up and over Roan Mountain!

 

The Fabulous 4th Metric Century-This ride departs from Tryon and is an excellent way to celebrate the 4th of July before you gobble up a couple of hot dogs and watch the fireworks!

 

August-The Blue Ridge Breakaway-This ride starts at beautiful Lake Junaluska- a great place to spend the day. This ride offers a full century and a metric century- the Century takes you up to the Parkway. 

 

September- The Hilly Hellacious-does it need any more of a description?

 

October-The tour de Leaves - Enjoy the fall colors from the comfort of your bike saddle on this great bike tour in Tryon!
